The Wearable Art: Kyoto Yuzen Sari project is delighted to welcome as Advisories Mr. Naoki Takizawa, one of Japan's leading fashion designers,

and Ms. Solange Suri, Professor of Fashion Design, ISDI Mumbai.

Both are active in the international fashion world and their advice on design, marketing, and sales will surely be a great contribution to the production of

Kyoto Yuzen sari in the future.

Naoki Takizawa

Fashion Designer

After working as the creative director of ISSEY MIYAKE from 1993 to 2007, he established "NAOKI TAKIZAWA DESIGN INC." studio in 2006 and launched his own brand NAOKI TAKIZAWA at New York Fashion Week in 2007. Since 2010 he has been the official wardrobe designer of Japanese Empress Michiko as well as providing designs for other members of the Imperial Family. Since 2011 he has worked as the Design Director of UNIQLO CO., LTD., and since 2014 was appointed Design Director for the special projects, UNIQLO. He opened “NAOKI TAKIZAWA FITTING ROOM” in Tokyo in 2018. He has collaborated with the world's leading creators and artists. His collaborations include designing costumes for the Frankfurt Ballet Company and the curtains for the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. His activities also include consulting for corporate brand renewal and other projects, as well as museum projects and uniform design. He has taught and conducted design research at the University of Tokyo and Waseda University and has received numerous awards, including the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government in 2007. Naoki is also the author of "The Clothes Design for 100 Million People"

Solange Suri

Program Director: Fashion Design

at ISDI School of Design & Innovation,

Atlas SkillTech University, Mumbai. 

She holds a Diploma in Apparel Manufacture and Design and a Masters in Sociology from SNDT University and brings in a rich 20-year experience such as Fashion Illustration, Design Concepts and Portfolio Development. She began her teaching career in 1997 with the CEPZ Institute of Fashion Technology and has since then been associated with reputed Fashion Design Institutes such as The Apparel Manufacture and Design Department of SNDT University, The L. S. Raheja Institute of Fashion Technology, Wigan& Leigh College, The Cambrian Institute Of Applied Arts and Rachana Sansad.  She was appointed as a member of the sub-committee, Board of Studies, Symbiosis Institute.
